A Mantle and a Hammer

This pages was a bit more brutal than recent pages have been. I love the world building that has to happen early in a story – there’s so much discovery, even and perhaps especially for the writers. This page was especially intense because not only have we seen Mathan transform from a cub to an adult, but we are now meeting the Harefolk and their warren. Definitely check out the character page this week, we’ve provided some additional insight on who everyone is thus far into the story.

Also, as an illustrator, I get the distinct pleasure of leaving little Easter eggs for my family in the art. This week was my niece’s birthday. So in honor of her birthday, Embree has prepared a basket of delicious breadsticks for Mathan’s celebration. Yum! Happy Birthday sweet Lady!
